PLACE OF ORIGIN

Erect shrub vineyards for carignano, counter-espalier for syrah, in the lower Sulcis area.

SOIL COMPOSITION

Medium mixture, tending to loose, with sand and limestone composition.

GRAPE VARIETIES

Carignano, with a small amount of syrah.

CLIMATE

Hot and dry summers, mild winters.

HARVESTING

By hand, starting in late September and ending around mid October.

VINIFICATION AND DEVELOPMENT

Alcoholic fermentation under controlled temperature in stainless steel tanks, maceration in the skins for about 14 days.

Malolactic fermentation is always timely and poses no problems. Once ready, the wine is transferred to barriques in the months of December-January following harvest.

Maturation in semi-new, fine-grained French oak barriques for about 12 months enables the wine to develop flavour and aroma, perfecting its style and longevity.

TASTING NOTES

Colour: Very intense, dark ruby red.

Nose: Complex and supple, hints of fruit and dried flowers, spicy notes of vanilla and black pepper.

Palate: Balanced thanks to its extractive components, mellow, stylish, harmonious.

STORAGE

Constant temperature 17 °C, humidity 75-80%, away from light, horizontal bottle.

SERVING

Very large goblet with medium-wide rim, serving temperature 18 °C.

MATCHINGS

Medium and long-matured cheeses, roast red meat, kid and lamb.
